Exercise in rewriting a segment from the book of revelations, starting at Revelations 1:3.

Braves are the ones who stand against
the power of monarchy
And braves are those who fight
Thou shall not fear

Workers commute with flags in their sleeves
Slithering towards the deep
Been around those thieves,
met the one that believes

When you stared at the abyss for the first time
It looked back, glittering bedazzled eyes
I don’t care if it does not rhyme
It’s scary, I just wanted to warn you

And you are not ready, of course, we all know
She knows, he knows, they know
And yet you present yourself with a gritty glow
Fragile, on the brink of the fall

How can a soul be so graceful and bright?
Strong in a smirk, sounding like a grunt
Chose by chance, chose by DNA
Just for abandoning a specific cunt

Sing that song loud and slander
We stand together, we evolve stronger
We do not need a system or a commander
The warfare will be subtle

They will surrender

And who keep what is written therein

Uttering haughty and blasphemous words

It was allowed to make war on the saints
And to conquer them

A shallow interview on a bucolic garden
Heteronormative couple, a millionaire
A question was asked, was a burden
The girl just answered, a rebel prayer

She won’t wear a revenge dress
A brunette with a speech on TV
She won’t fear a car drive through the Thames
Pandoras box was opened, this time in 3D

The birds chirped; the dogs barked
The world spun, another dusk and dawn
Suddenly was clear, we all could see it
The eye of the hurricane took the crown

Gender reveal, lizard queen
We live forever and grow within
Faster pussycat kill kill
Let’s dust up the guillotine

The rule is broken, given a new shape
A monochromatic past is fading away
Move on, do it now, and better be quick
Like a bandage you know, child’s play

The weak, the fearful, the ones stuck
The privileged, the robbers and the ones who stay in silence

They shall be forgiven and forgotten
Their souls accepted in a world full of colour
For the past is a memory nothing but rotten
The future shines more than this duller present

Then

I saw a new heaven

And a new earth

And I heard a great voice from the throne saying

“Behold the dwelling of God is with men
He will dwell with them
And they shall be his people
And God himself will be with them
He will wipe away every tear from their eyes
And death shall be no more
Neither shall there be mourning
Nor crying
Nor pain
Anymore
For these things will have passed away

Behold
I am coming soon
I am the alpha
And the omega
The first
And the last
The beginning
And the end”
